Q: What is your current profession, and where do you work?Â
Martin: I work for Consova Corporation as a Benefit Verification Specialist and I also Coach High School girls basketball at Riverdale Ridge HS.Â
Q: What do you enjoy most about your current profession?Â
Martin: Besides the awesome perk of being remote, I enjoy being able to assist with ensuring employees are supported throughout their verification process, which can be overwhelming when dealing with complex medical and health care coverage.Â
Q: How did your time at Fresno State prepare you for your career and life after college?Â
Martin: My time at Fresno state as an Anthropology Major has taught me to be more meticulous. Paying attention to Minor details are critical part of my everyday life to be successful and through academics and being a student athlete, I have learned that small details can positively or negatively affect an outcome.
Q: What is your favorite memory as a student-athlete?Â
Martin: My favorite memory as a student athlete would be playing in Vegas at the Mountain West Tournament, the atmosphere was always electric anytime we played and our supporters never missed a beat!Â
Q: What do you miss most about your time at Fresno State and being a student-athlete?Â
Martin: I miss playing in front of the red wave. It was nothing like playing in front of your home crowd! I cannot forget the road trips and hotel stays with my teammates, the crusted Parmesan chicken pregame meal (the best)!Â
Q: Looking back at your career, what is one word you'd use to describe it?Â
Martin: Empowering!Â
Q: What is the biggest piece of advice you would give to current student-athletes?Â
Martin: Live and embrace the moment! Memories will last a lifetime so enjoy your journey! Value your academic goals and take them serious, so as you transition to life after college you are prepared as you can be. You are exactly where you need to be in your journey!
Q: If you can give a message to the Fresno State family, what would it be?Â
Martin: Thank you, thank you, thank you! Keep showing up and showing out! Your unwavering support, love, and dedication for each athlete that passes through the program does not go unnoticed.
