FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State women's tennis team earns another hard fought battle on the court against Cal State Fullerton Titans on Friday afternoon, 4-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Fresno State once again started strong in the doubles draw. No. 1 doubles Misaki Kobayahsi and Matilde Magrini defeated the Titans No. 1 pair Duffy/ Usearaeu, 6-2. Fresno State's No. 2 and No.3 doubles pair saw an even paced match leading the set over the Titans. No. 2 Eliza Dunbar and Carolina Piferi defeat Myoung/ Nikitash, 6-4, to clinch the doubles point.

Fullerton made up ground to start the singles draw grabbing the first singles point on No. 5 defeating Fresno's Hannah Pieper, 6-1, in both sets. Another score tie up is made after No. 3 Carolina Piferi and No. 6 Fullerton's Nikitash take the next two singles points, 2-2.

The next three points would all be decided in the third set at No. 1, 2 and 4 singles. Both teams split another set of points after No. 1 Matilde Magrini defeated Duffy, 6-3 in the third set. Followed by Fullerton's No. 2 Usereau win over Misaki Kobayashi. It all came down to No. 4 Mariya Vyshkina playing for a comeback win after starting the third set, 1-4. Vyshkina defeated Yu, 7-5.
