'Dogs defeat hornets in Sacramento

SACRAMENTO, Calif.-Â Fresno State women's tennis team defeats the Hornets in a close match in Sacramento, 4-3.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
In the opening doubles matches, both Fresno State doubles pairs, of Kobayashi/ Magrini and Dunbar/Piferi made quick work earning the first point for the Bulldogs. Hornets took the first two singles matches giving them a one point lead to start. Just as quick the next two singles matches would go to the Bulldogs as Mariya Vyshkina and Carolina Piferi defeated their opponents (6-3,6-2) and (7-5, 6-3) respectively. 'Dogs take back the lead with the last two singles matches moving on to the third set. Matilde Magrini defeates Ejsmont, 6-4, in the final set before the Hornets Riva gets the best of Hannah Pieper.Â
