ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Fresno State baseball team fell 2-6 to New Mexico in the series finale on Sunday on the road.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lobos got on the board early with a solo home run.
After three quiet innings, Michael McKernan tied up the score, sending Ben Newton across the plate with an RBI single in the top of the fourth.
A solo homer pushed the Lobos ahead in the bottom of the sixth, but Bobby "Barrels" Blandford did not let that last long with a solo shot of his own to right field to tie the game again at two in the top of the seventh.
The Lobos responded with a three-run seventh due to a pair of Bulldog errors and sealed the deal in the eighth with one last insurance run. New Mexico defeated the Bulldogs 6-2 to cap the series.
