Bulldogs head to Berkeley for ITA Regionals

FRESNO, Calif.- Fresno State women's tennis team travels up north to Berkeley for the ITA Regionals for the Northwest region at Hellman Tennis Complex starting Friday morning through Tuesday.Â
BULLDOG BONES
As the second qualifying tournament for the 2025 NCAA Individual Championships, following the ITA All-American Championship. With 13 regional tournaments being hosted, the two singles finalists from each region (26 total) as well as the doubles champion from each region (13 total) will qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships through these Regional Championships.
2025 RECAPÂ
Bulldogs finished the 2025 season with 14-9, 6-4 MW record and saw a quarterfinals appearance at the conference tournament. Matilde Magrini, Sofia Pizzoni and Yinglak Jittakoat earned postseason conference honors with singles & doubles nods.Â
Among the ITA, Fresno State was ranked seventh in the ITA Northwest regional rankings and Jittakoat was named Cisse Leary Sportsmanship award for the Northwest region.Â
NEW TO THE VALLEYÂ
The tennis program welcomes two new Bulldogs to the official roster this season in Louna Cormier and Giulia Lodovici. Cormier comes to the Valley from Cannes, France and Giulia from Bergamo, Italy. The two 'Dogs will join the team with four years of eligibility as true freshmen.Â
YEAR SIXÂ
Head coach Denise Sy enters her sixth year leading the tennis program. In her first five seasons Coach Dy has coached three MW Players of the Year, has had five consecutive top 10 ITA Northwest regional rankings and holds a 60 percent overall winning percentage. The 2022 campaign was a milestone marker for Dy as she was named MW Coach of the Year and earned the regular season title.Â
