COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West announced its 2025 all-conference football teams on Tuesday, placing Jacob Spomer (C) on the first team and Jadon Pearson (LB) and Al'zillion Hamilton (CB) on the second team.
Â
Finn Claypool, Deijon Laffitte, Josiah Freeman, Simeon Harris and Rayshon Luke earned honorable mention.
Â
Spomer became the first Bulldog center to be selected to the first team in the Mountain West era, and the first overall since Ryan Wendell in 2007 (WAC).
Â
Spomer was Fresno State's starting center in each game this season, making the transition from tackle to center this year. He was the highest rated center overall in the Mountain West and had the highest pass blocking rating among Mountain West centers this season, according to Pro Football Focus. He was rated 27th nationally among centers, according to Pro Football Focus. Spomer's efforts boosted Fresno State's run game as the Bulldogs ran for more yards in 2025 than they had in a season since 2022.
Â
Spomer closes out his collegiate career with two All-MW honorable mention seasons (2022, 2023) and a first team season (2025).
Â
Pearson, in his first year as a Bulldog, earned second team linebacker honors. The senior led Fresno State with 99 tackles, a single season career high for the veteran player. He also added 7.5 TFL, three pass breakups, two quarterback hurries and a fumble recovery in 12 games this season. He was Fresno State's starting linebacker in all 12 games of the regular season and was voted a team captain by his teammates. This is Pearson's first career conference honor.
Â
Hamilton, one of the most experienced players on the Bulldogs' roster, earns second team honors in his final season. Hamilton had 37 tackles, and added a single season career-best four interceptions with four pass breakups. Hamilton started all 12 games for the Bulldogs, and was also voted a team captain by his teammates.
Â
Both Pearson and Hamilton were large parts of the Bulldogs' success on defense this season. Fresno State held its opponents to 293.5 yards per game, its fewest in a season since at least 1992.
