Bulldogs' hot start falls short in Big 12 semifinal

BURLESON, Texas - The fourth-seeded Fresno State equestrian team fell to the No. 1 seed TCU 15-4 in the Big 12 Championship semifinal at Bear Creek Farms on Friday afternoon.

How it happened
The Bulldogs came out hot with a 4-1 win in the flat. The Bulldogs won points by Molly Stewart, Paris Mahoney, Sage Lindvall, and Autumn Bradbury. Mahoney earned her point with a career-high 89 to her opponent's 85. Stewart and Lindvall also recorded scores in the 80s as Stewart scored an 86.67 and Lindvall scored an 85 for a career-best.

In the reining, the Bulldogs battled but were unable to earn a point. Senior Shelby Robinette rode for a 70.17 tie against her opponent, keeping the meet within reach at a one-point deficit (5-4) heading into the intermission. In reining, all but one point lost had a score differential of no more than two.

TCU took over in the second half, sweeping in both the fences and horsemanship.
Similar to the scores in the reining, horsemanship riders Abby Goddard and Ella Storch fell in their rides by a margin of just .17.
