'Dogs fall 9-2 to Cal

BERKLEY, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team fell 9-2 in a midweek game against the Cal Bears on Tuesday night.
 
With the loss, Fresno State moves to 17-19 on the season.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
Cal scored early with an RBI triple in the bottom of the first.
 
Justin Stransky led off the inning with a double down the left field line. Cam Schneider singled through the middle to send Stransky home and tie the game at one.
 
A grand slam in the bottom of the second and a solo home run in the third surged the Bears ahead 6-1 over the Bulldogs.
 
The Bears' lead was extended by three runs in the sixth inning with a pair of home runs.
 
Lee Trevino singled in the ninth inning, and Cayden Munster followed with a walk. Bobby Blandford drove in Trevino with a single through the left side, but the Bulldogs were unable to overcome the deficit and fell 9-2.
