Vu in fifth after day one at MW Championship

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Sophomore Vunnisa Vu is tied for fifth place after shooting an even-par 72 in the first round of the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Women's Golf Championship. Fresno State stands sixth overall with a team score of 12-over 300.
Nevada leads after day one at even-par, followed by San Jose State in second at 3-over and UNLV in third at 4-over. Colorado State sits at 7-over, New Mexico at 10-over, and Fresno State at 12-over, making up the middle of the leaderboard. Boise State (13-over), Wyoming (14-over), and San Diego State (16-over) round out the field.
Following Vu, Katelyn Lehigh is tied for 14th at 1-over, placing her inside the top 15.
Motoko Shimoji sits at 5-over in 28th place, with Berglind Erla Baldursdottir close behind at 6-over in 35th. Amelia Garibaldi wrapped up the day at 9-over.
