Six Bulldogs named All-GCC

LOS ANGELES - The Fresno State water polo team had six student-athletes earn All-Golden Coast Conference honors as the conference office announced its postseason awards on Tuesday.
Â
Senior Brooke Ochoa and junior Hailey Andress earned first team honors for 2025. For Ochoa, it was her second career first team nod, and fourth season with an all-conference recognition. Andress earned first team honors for the second consecutive year, and continued her streak of each year of her career with a recognition.
Â
Senior Abbey Simshauser and sophomore Ida Tully-Giles were Fresno State's second team honorees. Simshuaser earned All-GCC recognitions in both her seasons as a Bulldog while Tully-Giles earned her first honor in her first year as the Bulldogs' primary goalkeeper.
Â
Junior Ashley Williams was an honorable mention All-GCC selection, earning her first career accolade.
Â
Freshman Marit van der Kolk was named to the All-Freshman team. Fresno State has had a freshman on the GCC All-Freshman team each year for the last five seasons, including Ochoa (2022) and Andress (2023).
Â
As championship season approaches, the Bulldogs look for their fifth-consecutive GCC tournament title and berth to the NCAA Championship. If Fresno State wins its fifth-straight GCC tournament title, it would be the longest championship tournament win streak for a Fresno State team since baseball won seven-straight from 2006-12.
Â
The Bulldogs head to Los Angeles this weekend for the GCC Championship, hosted by LMU. Fresno State, the No. 2 seed, will face the seventh-seeded Concordia on Friday at noon. More information on the championship tournament is available here, and tickets are available here.
