Bulldogs drop quarterfinal match to Broncos

LAS VEGAS - The Fresno State women's tennis team dropped the quarterfinal match to Boise State on Thursday afternoon at Darling Tennis Center, 4-0.
How it Happened
Fresno State was shut out by the Broncos in their first match of the championship weekend. Bulldogs missed the double point opportunity to start the afternoon. Charlotte Gisclon and Klara Vukicevic fell to Shah/ Schaefer six games to one on court three. Matilde Magrini and Eliza Dunbar put up a tough contest winning four games against Broncos pair Dutta/Safarova, but could not close in on the win, 6-4. Paulina Monitiel and Sofia Pizzoni's match was left unfinished at four games all.
Fresno State worked to even the score as singles play began, but the Broncos played swiftly claiming the top three singles courts. Pizzoni finished first in singles play falling to Dutta in straight sets, the junior was able to grab a single game in the second set.
Yinglak Jittakoat wrapped up next in the second singles slot. The senior fell to Shah, winning two games in the first set and a single game in the second. Magrini fell in straight sets (6-3, 6-1) to Safarova, giving the Broncos the final match point.
Dunbar earned a first set win over her opponent on court five, 6-3. Andjela Lopicic, Montiel and Dunbar were all leading their second sets but left their matches unfinished.
