Four 'Dogs named CSC Academic All-District

FRESNO, Calif. - Four members of the 2025 Fresno State water polo team earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honors, announced by the organization on Tuesday. Seniors Elisa Grim and Abbey Simshauser, junior Megan Cranley and sophomore Sidney Strickland were Fresno State's honorees.

Fresno State has earned its most at-large honorees in a single season since 2023.

For the second year in a row, Simshauser advances as a candidate for Academic All-America consideration. The senior from Australia was a second team All-Golden Coast Conference selection while maintaining a 3.923 GPA in her sports psychology program.

Simshauser was the team's third-leading scorer with 56 goals in 2025. After just two seasons with the program, she graduated as No. 6 on the all-time list with 128 career goals as a Bulldog.

Grim is a three-time CSC Academic All-District selection. She carried a 3.96 cumulative GPA while earning her degree in Kinesiology-Exercise Science from Fresno State. In 2025, she appeared in 21 games, and scored 13 goals with 20 assists.

Cranley and Strickland are each first-time honorees. Cranley, majoring in Kinesiology-Exercise Science, has a 3.75 cumulative GPA. She appeared in all 22 games this season, and scored 12 goals with 17 assists. Strickland, a sophomore majoring in mathematics, has a 3.833 cumulative GPA while appearing in all 22 games and totaling 20 points on the year.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Women's At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
