FRESNO,Calif. - The Fresno State women's tennis team opens their spring season at home with two matches against Fresno Pacific and Santa Clara before traveling up north to visit the Pacific Tigers.Â
Bulldogs BonesÂ
Head coach Denise Dy enters her sixth year at the helm. In her first five seasons Coach Dy has coached three MW Players of the Year, has had five consecutive top 10 ITA Northwest regional rankings and holds a 60 percent overall winning percentage.Â
The 2022 campaign was a milestone marker for Dy as she was named MW Coach of the Year and earned the regular season title.Â
'Dogs are so backÂ
The tennis program welcomes two new Bulldogs to the official roster this season in Louna Cormier and Giulia Lodovici. Cormier comes to the Valley from Cannes, France and Giulia from Bergamo, Italy. The two 'Dogs will join the team with four years of eligibility as true freshmen.Â
Same court, different sideÂ
Bulldogs fans will see a familiar face on the courts in Matilde Magrini. This season Magrini begins her transition from player to assistant coach. Magrini capped off a well decorated career last spring as one of the top singles and doubles players for the Bulldogs.Â

- Pizzoni is the lone returner to earn an All-MW honor, grabbing a singles recognition
- Montiel looks to have a stronger sophomore campaign after earning a MW Freshman of the Week nod last spring
