FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State softball teams continues their homestand as they host No. 24 Washington for a series meeting with a doubleheader on Friday at 4 p.m. PT and 6 p.m. and close out the series on Saturday afternoon.Â

- Head Coach Charlotte Morgan opened her first weekend at the helm with a 3-1 record

ONE-TWO PUNCH ON THE MOUND
Senior Lauryn Carranco and freshman Alyssa Loza set the tone for the season on the pitcher's mound during the Fresno State Kickoff Classic. Both recorded their first win in a Bulldog uniform on the opening day of the tournament.

Carranco finished the tournament with a 2-0 record, 11 strikeouts, and allowed only three hits in 12 innings pitched while recording two complete game shutouts.

In two starts, Loza went 1-0, tossed a combined 11 innings, surrendered one run, and posted a 0.64 ERA with five strikeouts

The duo held their opponents to .277 batting average without giving up an extra-base hit in their four combined starts
LEADING THE CHARGE WITH THE BAT
Jerzie Liana made an immediate impact at the plate for the Bulldogs during opening weekend. The transfer from CSUN delivered in the clean-up spot, knocking in five runs and scoring two of her own during the tournament.

Liana leads the Bulldogs in multiple offensive categories including batting average (.538), hits (7), slugging (.750), and doubles (2) while sitting tied for first in RBI's (5) and extra-base hits (2)
