FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State softball team fell short in the doubleheader against ranked Washington on Friday night at Margie Wright Diamond.Â

Game 1: Washington 2, Fresno State 0 Â
Washington's DeBoer hit a home run on the first pitch to hold an edge over Fresno State in the first inning. Fresno State kept Washington at bay, not allowing any runs through the next five innings. Bulldogs' managed to get on base throughout the game, totaling five hits.Â
In the final inning, Washington's DeBoer hit a single, which allowed the Huskies to collect their final run.
Game 2: Washington 9, Fresno State 0
The Huskies built a four-run lead in the top of the second inning, taking advantage of a pair of errors and wild pitches. Hertzel from Washington made it 5-0 off a fielder's choice to start the top of the fourth inning before the Huskies scored four more runs to extend their lead to 9-0. Washington would go on to win the game in five innings by a final score of 9-0 to take both games in the doubleheader.Â
