Bulldogs share the love in 93-63 Valentine’s Day win over Air Force
2/14/2026 7:33:00 PM | Men's Basketball
FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State never trailed Saturday afternoon, using an early double-digit run and dominant interior play to defeat Air Force, 93-63, at the Save Mart Center on Valentine's Day.
DeShawn Gory and Wilson Jacques led the Bulldogs in scoring with 18 apiece. Bastien Rieber (12) and Zaon Collins (11) also scored in double-figures on Saturday.
How it Happened
After Wilson Jacques split a pair of free throws to open the scoring, Fresno State's defense ignited an early surge. DeShawn Gory converted a steal into a dunk, and Aram Soqui Urbano followed with a three-pointer off a turnover as the Bulldogs raced out to a 9-0 lead.
Jacques controlled the paint early, scoring on second-chance opportunities and finishing through contact. A floating jumper from Gory pushed the lead to 16-2 with just under 14 minutes remaining in the half.
Air Force briefly trimmed the margin behind a trio of three-pointers from Lucas Hobin, but every Falcon run was met with a Bulldog answer. Zaon Collins attacked off the bounce for consecutive layups, and Bastien Rieber knocked down a transition three to keep the momentum on Fresno State's side.
With under five minutes to play in the half, DJ Stickman converted two free throws following a steal, and Jacques added another interior finish to stretch the advantage back to double digits.
Fresno State went into halftime leading 45-33 after shooting 50 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes.
The Bulldogs wasted no time extending the lead out of the break.
Jacques opened the half with a hook shot in the lane, and Collins drilled a three from the wing to push the margin to 17. After Air Force answered with a pair of threes, Gory responded with back-to-back finishes in the paint to steady the Bulldogs.
Midway through the half, Fresno State delivered the knockout stretch. Jacques scored on a turnaround in the lane, Gory converted a turnover into a layup, and Cameron Faas connected on a fast-break three to push the lead to 19. Moments later, Rieber hit from deep and Jac Mani cleaned up two offensive rebounds with tip-ins, extending the advantage past 20.
Fresno State continued to dominate inside. Mani scored through contact on a put-back, Jacques rejected a shot at the rim, and Matteo Porto added two free throws in transition. A Rieber three with just over four minutes remaining pushed the Bulldogs ahead 84-57.
The Bulldogs' bench closed the game strong, highlighted by a late steal and layup from Mani that gave Fresno State its largest lead of the afternoon at 30.
