BULLDOG BONES
- Head Coach Vance Walberg is in his second season at the helm of the Bulldog Basketball program and his fourth season as a head coach overall.
- The Bulldogs are coming off a 6-26 season going into 2025-26, with a total of two conference wins, against Air Force and Wyoming.
- Fresno State started the 2025-26 campaign with seven straight home games; all played at the Save Mart Center.
- This is the first time in program history that the Bulldogs have a seven-game home stand to start the season.
- The Fresno State men's basketball team looks a little different this season, with 73% of the roster being newcomers to the squad.
- Fresno State returns only four athletes this season: Troy Jenkins, Makhan Diouf, Zaon Collins and David "DJ" Douglas, Jr.
- Fresno State closed out the regular season with a 13-18 record overall and a 7-13 mark in Mountain West play.
- Jake Heidbreder led the Bulldogs in scoring in the regular season with 483 points scored, an average of 16.7 points per game.
- DeShawn Gory follows closely behind with 427 points scored, an average of 13.8.
- Both Heidbreder and Gory are the only Bulldogs to earn All-Mountain West honors following the 2025-26 regular season.
ALL-MOUNTAIN WEST SELECTIONS
- Fresno State Men's Basketball's Jake Heidbreder and DeShawn Gory earned All-Mountain West honors following the conclusion of the 2025-26 regular season, the conference announced on Tuesday.Â
- Heidbreder was named All-Mountain West Third Team, while Gory earned All-MW Honorable mention.Â
- The league's 12 head coaches and selected media members voted on the All-Conference teams, as well as the coach, player, defensive player, newcomer, sixth man and freshman honors.
- In his first season with Fresno State, Heidbreder recorded 280 points in conference games with an average of 15.6 per game. He scored 20+ points in five MW games with the Bulldogs.
- Heidbreder also recorded 47 total rebounds, 12 offensive and 35 defensive. He was near perfect at the free-throw line, going 81-for-88 at the charity stripe. On January 16, he set a program record for made free throws in a single game at the Save Mart Center with 16.
- True freshman Gory led the Bulldogs in scoring in conference games this season, recording 314 points and averaging 15.7 points per game. He led the team in defensive rebounds with 131 this season, and collected 152 total rebounds, averaging 7.6 per game.
- Gory had six double-doubles in conference games this season and scored a career-high 31 points at New Mexico on January 21.
LAST TIME ON THE FLOOR
- The Fresno State men's basketball team fell on the road Saturday night, dropping an 85–60 decision to Grand Canyon at Global Credit Union Arena.
- With the loss, the Bulldogs moved to 13–18 overall and 7–13 in Mountain West play, while the Lopes improved to 20–11 on the season.
- Fresno State was led by Wilson Jacques, who finished with a team-high 15 points and eight rebounds.Â
- DeShawn Gory added 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds, while Jake Heidbreder chipped in seven points and four assists.
- Fresno State shot 22-of-60 (36.7%) from the field and 5-of-23 from three-point range.
- Grand Canyon connected on 11 three-pointers and forced 14 Bulldog turnovers.
- Gory led all players with nine rebounds.
