'Dogs late inning rally falls short in second game to Lady Rebels

How it happenedÂ
Fresno State had to start from behind as UNLV opened with five runs in the first inning, it would be the only runs for the Lady Rebels all day. Alyssa Ramirez would relieve Alyssa Loza mid-way through the first.Â
After being held scoreless through the first three innings Fresno State broke through in the fourth. Bulldogs' strung together three hits in the fourth inning to cut into the deficit. With runners on, Makenna Pettey delivered a clutch two-out single, driving in two runs to make it a 5-2 game.
In the sixth, the Bulldogs again capitalized. A four-hit inning led to two more runs, highlighted by RBI production from Alyssa Rebolledo. The rally pulled Fresno State within one at 5-4.
Fresno State got close again late, recording a hit in the seventh, but UNLV finished out the game and held on for the win.
