FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's tennis team dropped a hard-fought decision to CSUN on Friday afternoon at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Complex, 4-2.
How it happened
CSUN secured the early momentum by claiming the doubles point. Bulldogs' pairing of Eliza Dunbar and Klara Vukicevic had their match halted unfinished on court two.
In singles play, Fresno State responded with strong performances in the middle of the lineup. Eliza Dunbar cruised to a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-2, to put the Bulldogs on the board. Louna Cormier followed with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win on court five, leveling the match at two points apiece.
CSUN regained control with wins on courts one, two and six. Sofia Pizzoni was outlasted in three sets at the top spot. Klara Vukicevic's match on court four went unfinished after splitting the first two sets, as the dual was decided before completion.
