How it happenedÂ
Emma Martinez got it rolling with a leadoff double. Jamie Hick's sacrifice fly allowed Martinez to punch in the first run of the day. Fresno State got on base the following inning but fell short of making a run. Nevada pulled in front on a four run inning.Â
Fresno State put forth four runs in the fourth to take the lead against Nevada. Mallory Vancleave first up to bat in the inning got working with a single up the middle. Alyssa Ramirez hit it strong with a double pushing pinch runner Ava Tingey in. The hits didn't let up as Bocchini was able to advance to second on a throw. WIth two runners on base and a throwing error by Nevada, Tiara Westbrook made it to second with two RBIs. Jerzie Liana hit a double for the final run of the inning as Westbrook came home. Nevada managed to put up one run at the bottom of the fourth to knot it up at five a piece.Â
Both teams put up a three run inning in the sixth for another knot up, 8-8. Fresno State's three runs were all home runs at the hands of Martinez, Hicks and Vancleave. Martinez sent her ball flying deep into left field, the senior marked her third homer of the season. Hicks followed in suit, taking it out to left field, tallying her fifth this season. Vancleave hit her home run clean down the middle, also marking her fifth of the season. Nevada had their own pair of home runs, the second that brought in two.Â
Carracno was on the verge of a three up, three down until Nevada hit a walk off home run by DiGenova.Â
