'Dogs top Wolf Pack in game three

RENO, Nev. - The Fresno State softball team defeated Nevada in the third game of the series at Hixson Park on Sunday afternoon, 5-4.Â
How it happened
The first three innings went scoreless despite runners getting on base. Tides shifted for the Bulldogs in the third inning as four runs went up. With the bases loaded, Alyssa Ramirez earned the single run as she was walked to first and runner Alyssa Rebolledo came in. Rylee Bocchini hit the next two in and Jayda Crosby's first RBI single of the day tallied the fourth run. Kealani Nitta grounded out leaving two 'Dogs stranded. Nevada closed out the third with three runs to trail the Bulldogs.Â
Ramirez made the pitching relief for Lauryn Carranco at the bottom of the fourth allowing Nevada to earn the tying run, 4-4. Mallory Vancleave came up big for Fresno State in the bottom of the fifth. Vancleave's solo double play held back the Wolf Pack with loaded bases. Alyssa Loza was the final substitution at the mound in the sixth.Â
Crosby had the game changing play with an RBI single to left field to bring in the winning run. Loza got a strikeout and the final out came from Ramirez back at third base, leaving two on base for the Wolf Pack.Â
