How it happenedÂ
The Bulldogs struck first in the bottom of the fourth. Alyssa Ramirez opened the inning with a double to right field and was lifted for pinch runner Ava Tingey. Olivia Hill brought Tingey home with a sacrifice fly to right to give Fresno State a 1-0 edge.
San Diego State answered in the top of the fifth. After a pair of singles put two runners on, Ignacio hit a three-run homer to left field that flipped the score to 3-1.
Fresno State threatened in the bottom half of the inning when Emma Martinez drew a leadoff walk and moved into scoring position, but the Aztecs kept the Bulldogs off the board over the final three innings.
