Yeast lands PR to open Fresno State Invite

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State Invitational opened up on Friday with the men's and women's hammer throw at Warmerdam Field.

Senior Zoe Yeast took third in the women's event with a toss of 62.62m/205-5. On senior weekend, she set a new personal-best mark and moves to No. 7 all-time at Fresno State. Yeast finished behind a pair of athletes from the Chinese national team, who were competing independently in the field.

Senior Tearra Haney finished sixth on Friday with a throw of 52.61m/172-7 on her final attempt.

Fresno State did not have any men compete in the hammer on Friday.

The Bulldogs are back in action tomorrow at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Action begins at 9 a.m., starting with the javelin. Track events begin at 10 a.m. with the men's 5000. The Bulldogs will honor eight seniors in a senior ceremony at approximately 4:40 p.m. The full schedule is available here.
