Tedford to be inducted into Las Vegas Bowl Hall of Fame

LAS VEGAS - The Las Vegas Bowl Hall of Fame announced its fourth and largest class on Wednesday, helping celebrate the game's 35-year milestone. Among the Hall of Fame inductees is former Fresno State head coach Jeff Tedford.

Tedford is one of five inductees in the class, set to be honored this December. He is celebrated as one of only two head coaches to win a Las Vegas Bowl at two different schools – at Cal in 2005 and at Fresno State in 2018.

The 2018 Las Vegas Bowl put the stamp on the Bulldog program's winningest season as the 12th win, defeating Arizona State 31-20 to close the year.

Tedford's legacy in bowl games is among the best in college football history. Including his two Las Vegas Bowl victories, he has a 9-3 bowl game record as a head coach. He never lost a bowl game as Fresno State's head coach.

Tedford is joined in this year's class by former USC safety Troy Polamalu, longtime Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson, game announcer Dick Calvert and officials executive Marc Ratner.

The Las Vegas Bowl Hall of Fame welcomes a class every five years but there is no time requirement to be eligible for induction. While there is no minimum or maximum number of honorees in a class, inductees fall under the following categories: Player, Coach, Founder or Contributor. The class will be officially inducted as part of the annual Kickoff Luncheon on December 30 and introduced on the field during the game the following day.

Taking place on New Year's Eve for the second consecutive season, Las Vegas Bowl XXXV will be played Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026, at 12:45 p.m. PT (3:45 p.m. ET) at Allegiant Stadium and televised by ESPN.
