‘Dogs head north to Berkeley for weekend match with Cal

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team will wrap-up nonconference play this weekend as they travel to Berkeley for a match with Cal at Edwards Stadium on Sunday.

BULLDOGS IN SEPTEMBER
Fresno State has posted a 1-3-2 record through its first six matches of September, while tallying a total of six goals
- In those six matches, Fresno State has generated 65 shots and 33 shots on goal
- Hayden Crotty-Romero has led the charge offensively, scoring four goals including her first career goal against Sacramento State on September 3rd
- The Bulldogs posted season-highs in points (7), assists (3), shots (21), and shots on goal (10) in their 2-0 win against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on September 6
- Fresno State goaltender Jessie Reiss also recorded a season-high and career-high 14 saves in the Bulldogs 1-1 draw with Sacramento State on September 3rd
CROTTY-ROMERO KEEPS ROLLING
In Fresno State's 2-2 draw with CSU Bakersfield, junior Hayden Crotty-Romero recorded both Fresno State goals to help the Bulldogs snap their three-game losing streak.
- Crotty-Romero continues to lead the offensive charge for the Bulldogs, as she holds the team lead in goals (4) and points (8), and shots (11)
- Her four goals on the season ranks 6th in the Pac-12, while she also sits sixth in the conference in goals per game (0.40)
- Crotty-Romero recorded her first career multi-goal game against CSU Bakersfield
ARNTZEN IN GOAL
Kennedy Arntzen stepped into the starting goalkeeper role for the Bulldogs, making back-to-back starts against UC Irvine and CSU Bakersfield.
- Arntzen made her first career start of the season at UC Irvine, playing all 90 minutes and recording seven saves against the Anteaters.
- Arntzen followed with another 90-minute performance against CSU Bakersfield where she made another 7 saves for the Bulldogs
- Fresno State has posted a 0-1-1 record with Arntzen in goal.
A LOOK AT THE OPPONENT- CAL
- Fresno State and Cal will be meeting for the fifth time in program history
- This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2004, when Cal defeated Fresno State, 4-0, in Berkeley
- The Bulldogs will be looking for their first ever win over Cal, who holds a 4-0-0 record over Fresno State
- Fresno State is 0-3-0 on the road against Cal, and have been shutout in those previous three meetings
