Edwards was a three-time letterwinner with the Bulldogs, joining the program in 2001. Edwards redshirted that season and made 12 appearances in 2002, recording a 2.70 ERA and three saves on the way to being named the team[apos]s rookie of the year. In 2003, Edwards made a team-high 31 appearances out of the bullpen, recording four more saves and holding opposing batters to a .247 batting average, second-best on that team.
Missing over a full year because of shoulder surgery, Edwards returned to the 2005 squad midway through the season, Edwards returned to the mound on March 18, striking out the side against Iona in his first appearance. Edwards continued to remain dominant, allowing just four hits over seven appearances, and held on to a 10-8 win over Louisiana Tech on senior day to get the save.
Edwards[apos] eight career saves place him fifth among all Fresno State relievers, coming despite playing only one and half full seasons in a Bulldog uniform. He joins the staff directly from graduating with a B.A. in Mass Communication and Journalism. Originally hailing from Australia, Edwards now resides in Fresno.
