The Fresno State football team is within inches or votes of reaching the Top 25 in the AP Poll. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 27 with 48 votes after the first two weeks of the 2010 football season. It was the 'Dogs huge win over two-time defending Big East Champion Cincinnati that caught the eye of many around the nation.
During preseason the 'Dogs were not receiving votes, but after their impressive 28-14 win over Cincinnati people started to notice the Bulldogs. In the first week of polling Fresno State received 24 votes and now after the second week the Bulldogs are No. 27. The Bulldogs were down 14-0 with a little over two minutes left in the first half, before the 'Dogs went on 28-0 run snapping the Bearcats 18-game regular season winning streak.
The last time that Fresno State was in the Top 25 was the beginning of the 2008 season. The Bulldogs spent three weeks in the Top 25 and climbed as high as No. 21 country.
