Junior Aritta Lane has been named gobulldogs.com athlete of the week for Dec. 2. The honor is the first of Lane's career. Lane was named to the Fresno State Classic All-Tournament Team after helping lead the Bulldogs to a runner-up finish after a 66-53 loss to No. 22 Utah. The forward scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down five rebounds in Fresno State's 88-56 opening round win over Louisiana-Monroe. Lane followed that with a 16-point, eight-rebound outing against Utah in the championship game. Through three games, she currently leads the team in scoring (18.7 ppg), rebounding (7.7 rpg) and minutes played (28.3). Lane is 14-23 from the free throw line this season. She registered her 10th career double-double against Washington State in the season opener, notching 24 points and 10 boards. Fresno State travels to Stillwater, Okla., this weekend to compete in the Oklahoma State Cowgirl Classic. The Bulldogs open the tournament against Western Illinois on Friday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. PST.
