PRIOR TO FRESNO STATE: Played at Fresno City College for two seasons… owned a .336 average over two seasons, .387 as a freshman and .372 as a sophomore… recorded 90 hits, including 21 doubles, three triples and two home runs in his junior college career.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Redwood High School… played catcher… lettered in all four seasons as a starter.
PERSONAL: Son of Matt and Shannon Rico… has a brother, Cash… born and raised in Visalia, California… he enjoys duck hunting and golfing… dad was a pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays and mom was a shortstop at Fresno State and San Diego State… also recruited by Central Arkansas, St. John’s, Wichita State and Western Kentucky… wants to coach baseball after his playing career is over… favorite athlete is Mike Trout.
