Todd Hode enters his second season as administrative assistant at Fresno State. Hode joined the Bulldogs after spending the 2003 season as a volunteer assistant coach at Purdue. Hode's responsibilities include instituting the on-campus recruiting efforts of back-to-back top 20 recruiting classes and coordinating the daily operations of the baseball office, including the compilation of scouting reports and organizing the community involvement of the team. Hode also helps with the coaching and instruction at the Fresno State Bulldog baseball camps.
During the summer of 2003, Hode served as an assistant coach for the Falmouth (Mass.) Commodores of the Cape Cod League.
Hode spent the summer of 2002 as the head coach of the Crystal Lake Cardinals, a summer collegiate team based in Crystal Lake, Ill. Under his guidance, Crystal Lake captured the Chicago-Metro Collegiate League title, as well as the Illiana League crown. The championships were the first in the program's eight-year history.
Prior to serving with the Crystal Lake Cardinals, Hode was the pitching coach at Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake, Ill., for one season where the squad captured conference and regional titles.
From 1999 to 2000, Hode was an assistant at Eckerd College in St.Petersburg, Fla.
A 2000 graduate of Eckerd College with a B.A. degree in human development, Hode was a member of the Eckerd baseball team in 1998 as a pitcher. He also played two seasons at McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Ill., and one at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
Hode also holds a degree in Emergency Medical Technology from St. Petersburg College.
