Brian Wilkinson, hired December 6, 2016, enters his first season as the director of football operations at Fresno State. He brings more than 10 years of football operations experience to the Bulldog football program.

Wilkinson has also served as a member of the College Football Playoff Advisory Board for Operations and was the Alabama team liaison for the 2016 National Championship Game.

The veteran of the position has led the postseason operations for four bowl games – Poinsettia Bowl (2015), Fiesta Bowl (2014), GoDaddy Bowl (2013), and Gildan New Mexico Bowl (2011) – and was an assistant for the 2007 Armed Forces Bowl.

Wilkinson was last the operations director for the U19 World Championships for USA Football in Harbin, China, and was responsible for its day to day operations and team travel to and from China as well its daily schedule and logistics.

Wilkinson spent the previous two seasons (2014-15) as the director of football operations at Boise State, remaining on Bryan Harsin’s staff once he transitioned from Arkansas State. In one season with Harsin at Arkansas State in 2013, Wilkinson served as the team’s assistant athletic director for football operations.

Prior to joining Arkansas State, Wilkinson was Wyoming's director of football operations from 2011-12.

He also spent time at California, alongside Jeff Tedford, as the assistant director of football operations, first from 2005-08, and then from 2010 until accepting his position with the Cowboys.

Between stints with the Golden Bears, Wilkinson worked with Sacramento State as its director of football operations from 2008-09.

Before accepting his first assistant director of operations position at Cal, he served as the Golden Bears equipment manager from 2003-05. Also while at Cal, Wilkinson was the director of softball operations from 2005-06.

Wilkinson served in the United States Air Force from 1991-94. After the military, he was a minor league clubhouse manager and equipment manager for the Oakland Athletics. He earned a bachelor’s of science degree in management from California Coast University in 2016. He and his wife, Tami, have two sons, Bryce and Tyler.
