Former Fresno State wide receiver Josh Harper was announced as the program’s Director of On-Campus Recruiting on June 16, 2017.
Harper’s playing career at Fresno State spanned from 2010-14, in that time he became the program’s second-leading receiver in receptions (228) and touchdown catches (29) while amassing 2,938 yards receiving in 41 games played. He was a 2014 first-team All-Mountain West selection and a 2013 All-MW second-team selection.
After his playing career as a Bulldog, Harper had stints in the NFL and CFL. Harper was signed by the Oakland Raiders as an undrafted free agent in May 2015 and attended training camp. The following season the Calgary Stampeders signed Harper. An ongoing battle with various injuries hampered making his push in either league.
Harper joined Oregon State’s staff as a recruiting assistant from June 2016-April 2017 and gave it one more try with football and received multiple contract offers this spring, but suffered a hamstring injury that led him to retiring from the gridiron.
