Malik Forrester joined the Bulldog coaching staff as a defensive graduate assistant in January 2024. Forrester will work alongside Jethro Franklin and the Bulldogs’ defensive line, specifically interior players.

Prior to arriving at Fresno State in his current role, Forrester served as a defensive line graduate assistant at Auburn (2022).

Forrester had his first coaching opportunity with West Hills College, serving as the defensive line coach and the strength & conditioning coach for the junior college in 2018. With West Hills, he developed six student-athletes to continue their athletic and academic careers beyond the community college level. Following his West Hills College stint, he moved on to serve as the defensive line coach as Black Hills State University in 2019.

Forrester began the 2021 season at Towson, serving as a defensive quality control and assistant defensive line coach. He finished the 2021 season at Dartmouth College as a defensive quality control. Dartmouth finished that season as Ivy League Champions with a 9-1 overall record and ranked first in the conference standings in scoring, passing and third down stops with Forrester’s assistance.

Forrester was a Fresno State defensive lineman himself from 2016-17. A player under current head coach Jeff Tedford for one season, Forrester was a senior captain and All-Mountain West honorable mention selection in 2017. Prior to arriving at Fresno State, he began his playing career at Los Angeles Pierce College where he was a first team all-conference selection.

Following his playing career, he had professional stops with the San Francisco 49ers, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL), the Lehigh Valley Steelhawks and the Philadelphia Soul.

He graduated from Fresno State in May 2018 with his degree in Criminal Justice. He earned an associates degree in Social and Behavioral Science from Los Angeles Pierce College in December of 2016.

Forrester is a native of Annapolis, Maryland.
