Coaching Career:
Alba was named the cornerbacks coach for the Bulldogs on Feb. 24, 2009 ... worked with Fresno State[apos]s Desia Dunn, who earned second-team All-WAC honors in 2010 ... the [apos]Dogs pass defense was second in the conference and 45th in the nation in 2010 after allowing 208.77 yards a game ... in 2009, the Bulldog pass defense ranked No. 32 in the country by allowing only 199.62 yards a game ... before joining Fresno State, Alba served as a graduate assistant for BYU from 2005-2008 ... worked with the defense as a Cougar ... also coached the offensive line during the 2008 season ... in Alba[apos]s four years coaching at BYU, the team won the Mountain West Conference Championship two times and went to bowl games every year.
Playing Career:
A cornerback and return specialist for BYU in 2001-2004 ... led the team in interceptions as a senior ... named a Mountain West Scholar Athlete ... as a prep athlete, earned All-Metro All-Star, All-County Defensive Player of the Year and Atlanta-Journal Player of the Week for the state of Georgia honors.
Personal:
Born March 3, 1980 in Dallas, Texas ... he and his wife, Wendy, have three children: sons, Micah Jr. and Nolan, and daughter Alaina ... graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2004 before earning his Master[apos]s in Exercise Science Physiology.
