Sean Alston returns to the Fresno State football program for his first season in the role as a graduate assistant coach working with the secondary.
Alston, a former All-Mountain West cornerback for the Bulldogs, returns to his alma mater after spending one season as a graduate assistant at Missouri where he focused on the recruiting efforts with the Tigers.
As a sophomore in 2012 he started all 13 games for the ‘Dogs at cornerback and ranked 11th in the FBS with five interceptions that season.
Alston was a All-Mountain West honorable mention selection that year when he helped lead the Bulldogs to the conference championship and an appearance in the 2012 Sheraton Hawai`i Bowl.
He earned two letters with the Bulldogs before suffering nerve damage in his shoulder in the spring of 2013 that ended his playing career.
He remained with the program after his injury, serving as a student assistant coach in 2013 and 2014 while he finished up work towards his bachelor’s degree in criminology that he received in the spring of 2015.
