Librado Barocio is in his first season as Fresno State football’s Director of On Campus Recruiting. He joined the Bulldog program in July 2021.
Prior to joining the Fresno State staff, Barocio worked in the Community Affairs department with the Los Angeles Rams.
Barocio spent a lengthy time at UCLA, having been a member of the recruiting staff, coaching staff and a collegiate player for the Bruins. He spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons as a recruiting analyst for the UCLA football team. Prior to his stint as a recruiting analyst, Barocio was a member of the coaching staff as a defensive quality control from 2015-17.
He spent five seasons as a football student-athlete at UCLA (2010-14), listed on the roster as a defensive back. Barocio saw the field on defense and special teams in his career.
Barocio started his playing career at UCLA as a walk-on, and later earned a scholarship spot on the roster. He was nominated by UCLA for the Burlsworth Trophy, an award presented annually to the nation’s top player who began their career as a walk-on.
In addition to the Burlsworth Trophy honor, Barocio received UCLA’s "Jerry Long Heart Award" and "Highest Scholarship by a Senior" for the football team. He had a decorated academic career, having earned Honor Roll recognition in 11 academic terms and being the 2014-15 UCLA Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Barocio is a native of Los Angeles, California.
