2024-25 (SOPHOMORE):Â First time NCAA qualifier in the 100 & 200 breaststroke, placing 27th and 35th, respectively...programs first-ever conference champion in the 100 breaststroke (59.59)...podium finisher in the 200 breast, good for third ((2:09.87)... holds the program record in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay, achieved at MWC...Aquatic Center record holder in the 100 breast (59.84) achieved against MW opponent San Jose State...Aquatic Center relay record holder in the 400 medley relay achieved against Pepperdine...two-time All-MW selection...was named MW Swimmer of the Week (Feb. 4, 2025)...holds the fastest time in program history in the 100 breast (58.19),the second fastest time in the 200 breast (2:09.53) and the fourth fastest time in the 100 free (50.10)...competed in ten meets...made an appearance at the Toyota US Open with races in 200 breast (4th) and 100 breast (6th)...earned 16 top-three finishes...saw three event wins, two in the 100 breast and one in the 200 breast...season best times - 50 FR (23.43), 100 BR (59.19), 200 BR (2:09.53)
2023-24 (FRESHMAN): Three-time finalist at Mountain West Championships in the 100 Breaststroke (6th), 200 Breaststroke (4th) and 200 Freestyle Relay (3rd)…holds the second fastest time in program history in the 100 Breaststroke (1:01.60) and third fastest in the 200 Breaststroke (2:11.71), both achieved at MWC…Pulkkinen’s 200 Breast time was good for an NCAA ‘B’ cut…consolation finalist in the 200 IM taking 15th place.
PERSONAL:Â Born and raised in Kouvola, Finland...daughter to Susanna and Masa Pulkkinen...has a younger sibling, Kasper...enjoys playing video games, knitting and watching sports...nickname is Jepu...chose Fresno State because of the teams vibe and great coaches...first memory of Fresno State is the international orientation...dream job is to be a sports psychologist...one thing people may not know about her is she is a registered minister at Universal Life Church...highlight of her life so far has been earning bronze at the Finnish Championships in the 100 breast...one word to describe her in the pool is playful...in ten years she would like to see herself as an Olympian...can speak four languages Finnish, English, a bit of Swedish and German...goals for this season are to finish in the Top three at conference.
