Marina Demore completed her second season on the Fresno State softball staff as a Graduate Student Manager for the 2019 season. She assists the program in several facets including day-to-day operations, mentoring, and travel logistics.
Demore brought more than four years of collegiate coaching experience to the Bulldogs after a standout career as a pitcher at Oregon State. She had worked with Bulldog head coach Linda Garza before as she served as a volunteer assistant coach under Garza at UC Riverside in 2016, helping with administrative duties, camps and clinics, and as a pitching coach and batting practice pitcher. She joined the Bulldogs after a season as a pitching coach at the University of British Columbia.
Â
Demore got her first experience as a collegiate coach at Loyola University Chicago, where she served as the team’s pitching coach, recruiting assistant, and travel coordinator for two years. She also has coaching experience as an assistant for the Greek national team, a stint at Corvallis high school, and as a private instructor.
Â
A 2014 graduate of Oregon State, Demore was a member of the OSU softball team from 2009-2013. In 2013, she recorded 22 wins to become the Beavers' first pitcher to tally over 20 wins in a season since 2000. With Demore's help, Oregon State made back-to-back NCAA Regionals appearances in 2012 and 2013 after a six-year absence from the tournament.
Â
A four-time Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection, Demore also played on the Canadian National Team. In the 2013 Pan American games, she threw five scoreless innings of relief vs. Team USA and helped Team Canada finish in second place.
Â
A native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Demore earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Oregon State in 2014 and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport psychology at Fresno State. Â
