Sydney Lahners joined the Fresno State softball staff as a graduate student manager for the 2019 season.

Lahners completed a standout playing career at Pacific in 2018. A four-year starter, she was an All-West Coast Conference (WCC) first team selection as a senior as she hit .358 with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs to help lead the Tigers to a 9-6 conference record.

Bulldog fans will remember Lahners from the incredible weekend she had playing with Pacific in Margie Wright Diamond during the 2018 Bulldog Classic. Over five games in the tournament she hit 10-for-13 (.769) with four home runs and 11 RBIs, with three games driving in at least three runs. In the first four games of the tournament she was 10-for-11 with a two-homer game, and in Pacific’s lone contest against Fresno State she went 2-for-3 with a homer and 3 RBIs.

Lahners ended the 2018 season ranked second in the WCC in home runs as well as doubles (12) and total bases (90) and had a .451 on-base percentage. She hit better than .300 in each of her last three collegiate seasons and finished her career ranked in the top-10 in Pacific program history in home runs (27), batting average (.321), walks (95), RBIs (129), and on-base percentage (.418).

A native of Laguna Hills, Calif., Lahners had a standout prep career as a first team All-Orange County selection and CIF All-State candidate at Laguna Hills HS. She earned her bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Pacific in 2018 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports administration at Fresno State.
