Fresno State: (2008) Added depth to the throwing corps, tossing the hammer ... had a season, and personal, best of 154-9 at the Cal Nevada Championships ... earned Academic All-WAC honors.
Hartnell College: Competed two years on the junior college level as a thrower ... voted Most Valuable Field Athlete and Most Valuable Thrower in 2006, as well as earning scholastic honors ... named Most Valuable Thrower in 2005 after taking second in shot put and hammer at the conference meet ... best marks include: shot put (34-7.5), discus (104-8), hammer (150-1) and javelin (98-4).
Everette Alvarez HS: Four year letterwinner in track & field ... earned MVP and Best Sportsmanship honors ... set a school record in the discus of 98-1
Personal: Born July 16, 1986 in Salinas, Calif. ... parents are Victoria Maldonado and the late Miguel Rojas ... has two brothers, Miguel and Eric, and a sister, Enelidia... biggest athletic thrill was setting a new school record in the hammer at Hartnell ... most admires her mother for raising her family on her own... chose to attend Fresno State because of a friend[apos]s encouragement and the strength of her major.
