Sean Robbins joined the Bulldogs in January 2021 as a Strength and Conditioning Coaching Assistant and was promoted to Assistant Sports Performance Coach in 2022. Robbins is primarily responsible for the Bulldogs’ swim & dive program, while also assisting with the football team with emphasis in speed training and athlete development. In his time at Fresno State, he has also worked with the Bulldogs' equestrian program.
With the support of Robbins in his sports performance role, the Bulldog football program has excelled on the field with three bowl game victories (2021, 2022 and 2023) and a Mountain West football championship title (2022).
Robbins has helped develop the swim & dive team to have its best season in several years in the 2023-24 year. The Bulldogs saw several program records broken behind eight All-MW performers. At the 2024 Mountain West championship, the Bulldogs earned their highest team finish in the program's history, placing fourth in the event.
Before arriving at Fresno State, Robbins served as a Coaching Assistant at New Mexico State, where he was the lead strength coach for Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, Swim & Dive, and Women’s Golf, as well as assisting with the Aggies Football team. While at New Mexico State, Robbins was also responsible for creating the department’s intern curriculum.
Prior to joining the Aggies, Robbins was a strength and conditioning intern at North Dakota State University. In Fargo, Robbins worked primarily with the Football program, assisting in all aspects of the team’s off-season strength and conditioning training. Before his time with the Bison, Robbins was a Sports Performance Intern at Stanford University where he worked with the Cardinal’s Football, Women’s Rowing, Women’s Lightweight Rowing, Women’s Lacrosse and Men’s Volleyball programs. Robbins began his coaching career spending four years coaching high school football as well as strength and conditioning in Long Beach, California before moving up to the collegiate ranks.
Robbins received his Bachelor’s degree in leadership studies from Humboldt State University.
