PRIOR TO FRESNO STATE: Attended nationally ranked College of Southern Idaho for two seasons … medically redshirted as a freshman … totaled 172 kills (2.02 per set) and 123 assists in her career … added eight service aces … totaled 88 digs (1.04 per set) and 57.0 total blocks as a Golden Eagle … named All-Region 18 Conference Second Team as a redshirt freshman … earned All-Tournament Team at the Starr Corp Invitational, hitting .333 and averaging 3.08 kills per set against top NJCAA DI teams.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Truckee High School … played setter and right side … lettered in all four seasons, and lettered as a starter in her sophomore season … named Second Team All-Conference as a sophomore … team was undefeated that season and won a conference championship … member of Athletes Committed, a club for top athletes that promotes a clean and responsible life.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Ryan and Christine Smart … has two siblings, Thomas and Cooper … enjoys hiking, dirt biking, camping, wakeboarding, surfing and snowboarding in her free time … father is a former Minot State and Sierra College football player, earning all-conference honors at both schools … her aunt Nicki Horn was a setter and middle blocker at Fresno State from 1976-1980 … cousin Shawn Plummer played football at Fresno State from 2008-2012 … uncle Patrick Plummer played football at Fresno State from 1971-1972 … was also recruited by NAU, University of Portland and Idaho State … chose Fresno State because of her family history in the department and the community feel in and around the campus … wants to be a sports psychologist after graduation … can also juggle.
