In her first season at the helm, Morgan coached three All-MW recognitions alongside two honorable mentions, two MW 'Player' of the Week honors. A season of first came in Morgan's debut season with a season opener win against SIUE, the first no-hitter game since 2021, a thrilling MW postseason clinch and two series sweeps. Coach Morgan was the Bulldogs pitching coach this season that led CSUN transfer Lauryn Carranco to one of her best seasons. Carranco threw her first career no-hitter against Pacific to become the 79th in program history, the following week she was named MW Player of the Week. Morgan continued to prime Carranco throughout the season as the starting pitcher earned All-MW First Team and in the nation stood 8th in complete games with 20 and 40th in shutout games with four.Â
Jamie Hicks and Emma Martnez earned All-MW Second Team honors while Rylee Bocchini and Alyssa Ramirez were named honorable mention. Bocchini stood out this season as the second Bulldog to earn a conference honor. The starting catcher was named MW Player of the Week (Mar. 2). Coach Morgan's postseason clinch came down to the wire in the final regular series game in extra innings till Bocchini hit her first career home run. Morgan led the Bulldogs to their fourth consecutive Mountain West Championship appearance since it's return in 2023.Â
Morgan's athletes were strong in the classroom with four earning CSC Academic Honors (Lauryn Carranco, Rylee Bocchini, Natalie Elias, Alyssa Rebolledo).Â
Charlotte Morgan was named the sixth head coach in program history on June 14, 2025. Morgan comes to the Valley after spending the last four seasons as the head coach at CSUN.
Morgan coached the Matadors to 109 victories, highlighted by a 28-win campaign in 2023. Her players have earned a total of 16 all-conference honors as well as five first-team selections and two major Big West awards.
Morgan began her coaching career at Maryland in 2012, helping the team reach the NCAA Tournament and mentoring an All-Conference pitcher. She then served as pitching coach at Georgia Tech (2014–15), where her staff threw back-to-back no-hitters and developed standout freshman Christina Biggerstaff. At Oklahoma State (2016–17), she helped lead a postseason return and guided pitcher Kacy Freeze to 19 wins and four saves. In 2017, she became head coach of the Akron Racers, continuing with the team in 2018 as the Cleveland Comets. She then joined the staff at UT Arlington as an assistant coach (2017–19), helping the team to a 30-win season, top-four Sun Belt finish, and a NISC Regional title.
A Moreno Valley, Calif. native, Morgan was a standout player at the University of Alabama. She was a three-time NFCA All-American, two-time SEC Player of the Year, and the program's first SEC Player of the Year. She earned three First-Team All-SEC selections and was twice named a USA Softball Player of the Year Top 10 finalist. In 2010, she received the Senior Lowe's CLASS Award, recognizing the most outstanding senior student-athlete across 10 NCAA Division I sports.
In 2010, Morgan was selected first overall in the NPF Senior Draft by the USSSA Pride, where she played until 2012 before joining the Akron Racers for the 2013–14 seasons. She was All-NPF in both 2010 and 2013.
