Baseball Team Drops Doubleheader To New Mexico

Albuquerque, N.M. - Despite scoring 10 or more runs in both games, the Bulldogs dropped both games of a doubleheader to New Mexico. The Lobos took the first game, 11-10, then won the second game, 19-11.
The Bulldogs' record falls to 16-24 overall and 2-10 in the Western Athletic Conference. Fresno State will play an exhibition game against the Fresno Grizzles on Monday, then take on Southern Utah in a two-game set, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Bulldogs got things started in the first game by posting two runs in the opening frame. The Bulldogs picked up two hits, including a double to left field by shortstop Jason Fanconi. Fresno State added another run in the second when rightfielder Joe Gerber hit his first home run of the season.
