Honolulu, Hawai'i - The Bulldogs picked up their first win in the Hawai'i Rainbow Easter Tournament by defeating Hawai'i Pacific, 6-2, on Wednesday at Rainbow Stadium. Coming into the game the Sea Warriors had won 17-straight games.
Fresno State started the game off on the right foot when it picked up a run in the first inning off Hawai'i-Pacific starter Jamie Surdock. With one out, rightfielder Beau Hintz reached first on a single, then moved to first on a groundout by leftfielder Anthony Acevedo. Hintz would score from second during the next at bats as we was brought home by first baseman Brandon Gemoll.
The Sea Warriors, however, would tie the game up in the second when third baseman Lee Anzai hit what appeared to be line-drive to short stop Jason Fanconi, but the umpires ruled that the ball hit the ground before Fanconi caught it. Anzai then stole second, went to third on a wild pitch, then scored when pitcher Tom Graham's pick off throw to third sailed wide.<>
