Bulldogs Tie for Fifth at John A. Burns Invitational

KANEOHE, Hawaii - Fresno State men's golf team finished tied for fifth today at the John A. Burns Invitational at Klipper Golf Course (par 72, 6,512 yards) in Kaneohe, Hawai'i. The Bulldogs shot a team total of twelve-under par 852, 20 strokes behind the winner, defending national champion and fourth-ranked, UNLV. Fifth-ranked Oklahoma State finished second (837) and No. 20 Brigham Young placed third (837).
Michael Kirk of UNLV won the individual title with a 13-under 68-66-69-203, two strokes ahead of Oklahoma State's Charles Howell and Southern Methodist's Nicholas Loar.
The Cardinal and Blue resume play March 8-9, when the Bulldogs head to the Aldila Collegiate Golf Classic in Santee, Calif.
