Fresno State Solidifies Bid For WAC Tournament

Fresno, Calif. - Fresno State received confirmation that Beiden Field will be the site for the 1999 Western Athletic Conference Tournament, May 19-22. The six teams with the best conference records will descend upon Fresno for the double-elimination round-robin tournament.
"We are completely committed to hosting the WAC Tournament," Fresno State Athletic Director Al Bohl said. "This could be the ingredient that sparks a big winning streak."
Adult tournament passes can be purchased for $20 and student passes are available at $12. Tournament passes will be available through the Fresno State ticket office. For the first-three days of the tournament the schedule of games will be 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sundays championship game will begin at noon.
This will be the first time that Fresno State has played host to the WAC Tournament, but in two previous seasons, 1995 & 93, Beiden Field was the site for the conference playoff between the Western and Eastern division champions. Both seasons the Bulldogs won the playoff and advanced to NCAA regionals.
