Men's Tennis Eliminated From NCAA Championships

Athens, Ga. - The 25th-ranked Fresno State men's tennis team fell in the third round of the NCAA Mens Tennis Championships to eighth-ranked Louisiana State, 4-1, today in Athens, Georgia.
The Bulldogs conclude their season with a 20-9 overall record while LSU improved to 19-6.
Fresno State fell behind early by dropping the doubles point with losses at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Sophomore Peter Luczak was the highlight of the day for the Bulldogs. Luczak, ranked 64th in the nation, defeated LSU's 13th-ranked Michal Chmela, 7-5, 6-3, at No. 1. It is the highest-ranked player Luczak has defeated during his career at Fresno State and pushed his record to 30-13 for the year.
The Bulldogs are now 1-5 at the NCAA Championships in five appearances over a six year period.
Luczak and junior Olivier Le Jeune will begin play in the NCAA singles tournament on Wednesday, May 26.
