Men's Tennis defeats Cal Poly in Home Opener

Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno State mens tennis team defeated Cal Poly, 5-2, today at the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
The Bulldogs opened the match by sweeping doubles to take a 1-0 lead over the Mustangs.
In singles, Fresno States three nationally-ranked players cruised to straight set wins to clinch the victory for the Bulldogs. Sophomore Peter Luczak, ranked 40th, defeated Cal Polys Tony Piccuta, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 1 singles. Junior Rob Cheyne, ranked 60th, was victorious over Brett Masi of Cal Poly, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2 and 43rd-ranked Olivier Le Jeune defeated Brandon Fallon of Cal Poly, 6-3, 6-3, at No. 3.
The Bulldogs improve to 2-3 on the season and Cal Poly falls to 1-2. Fresno State will be in action tomorrow as the Bulldogs host 30th-ranked UC Santa Barbara at 1 p.m.
