Fresno, Calif. - Its a win-win situation. The Bulldogs and the San Joaquin Valley teaming up to share a part of each other as the 1999-2000 athletic season is just around the corner.
The third Bulldog Caravan and the Annual Used Car "Summer Sizzle Sell-Off" at Bulldog Stadium are two events slated for next week and running through the end of the month.
The Bulldog Caravan will make four stops throughout the Valley beginning July 21. At each stop there will be give-a-ways such as team posters, schedules, and hot dogs and Pepsi as well as meeting head coaches and getting autographs. Valley residents will be able to have a chance to receive various prizes and coupon give-a-ways as well as games and attractions for children of all ages.
In addition, a limited number of Bulldog Caravan t-shirts will be given away to those who purchase tickets for the upcoming football season. There will be a drawing for a pair of football tickets at each of the four caravan stops with a grand prize drawing for a trip for two (includes a pair of tickets and lodging) to watch the Bulldogs play UCLA in Pasadena on Sept. 18.
The second New & Used Car Sell-Off at Bulldog Stadium was a huge success during the spring that it will be held again next week, July 23-25.
The Fresno State Quarterback Club and local auto dealers have teamed up for a summer sell-off which will offer low pricing, easy financing, on-the-spot approval and high loan trade-in allowances for over 1,000 cars.
The dates are July 23, 12 Noon - 10 pm, July 24, 9 am - 10 pm, and July 25, 9 am - 10:00 pm in the Red Lot outside of Bulldog Stadium.
On Friday, July 23, those who attend will get a special treat as well as witness a special unveiling by Rainbo Bakery.
"This car sale is a "win-win" for our football program and our community," head football coach Pat Hill said. "Weve asked the dealers to bring their best vehicles and price them low. With each car sold, the local car dealers will put cash back into the program to help with facility improvements and summer school for our student-athletes. This event allows us a chance to give something back to the people who support our team."
